Some of Jill Whitmore's glass artwork in our Gallery
Jill Whitmore creates sophisticated, fused glass and multimedia art for collectors around the globe. Whitmore is the descendant of a long line of noted American artists, including her great uncle Maxwell Coburn “Coby” Whitmore, one of the leading illustrators of the mid twentieth century as well as her grandfather Robert Houston Whitmore, a painter whose work is included in the Library of Congress. Jill’s journey to become a professional artist started in Seattle nearly 30 years ago when she began experimenting with various genres of acrylic on canvas.
An abstract expressionist at heart, Jill’s glass art and multimedia installations are found in private homes and commercial buildings from coast to coast and as far away as India and Japan, while thousands globally collect her stunning wearable art.
Born in Dayton, Ohio, Jill has a Bachelor of Arts from the Henry M. Jackson School of International Studies at the University of Washington in Comparative Religions of the World with an emphasis in art and symbolism in world architecture. This background inspires her expression of spirituality, joy and nature in her unique work.
Jill returned to the Pacific Northwest in 2015, after living in Colorado for the last eight years, where she found inspiration in the mountains and the landscapes of the high desert as well as operating her successful Whitmore Gallery ~ visual joy.
